I have had quite a few Kindle readers over the years. Amazon keeps adding features I like so I will upgrade occasionally. My current Kindle ( the 11th Generation Paperwhite) (#ad) was a Christmas gift from my husband. I love it. Big screen with easy to adjust text size. And since I’m a bit careless with my Kindle reader, I also have a pretty cover (#ad) for it too.
As you will see from the list below, I read a LOT. And my Kindle Unlimited membership (#ad) pays for itself over and over. My husband and I share our KU membership so it’s an even better deal. You can download books to multiple devices too (he has an older Kindle Reader). Early in 2023 Amazon raised the monthly price for their Kindle Unlimited membership to $14.95 per month. I easily justify the price every month with the books I get to read for free.
My husband does not use his Kindle reader as much since he also has a membership in Audible (#ad). It allows him to download just about any audiobook available on the Audible program for a single credit.
When I do buy a book not on Kindle Unlimited (Not all the traditional publishing houses appreciate the KU program), my husband gets a discount on the audio version of the book. According to him, the discounted prices are sometimes so cheap he does not use one of his monthly credits and just buys the audio version outright.(#ad

This list is (sort of) the most recent books I have downloaded to my Kindle. I say sort of because as a KU member I am bumping into the “maximum number of borrows” all the time. So in order to download a book, I have to return a book (borrowed) and the returned book no longer shows up on my Kindle. You will notice a crazy amount of genre diversity too. There are two reasons. One, I like to read a wide variety of genres. Two, I am a member of 2 book clubs. Each month we vote on a new book to read and many times, my choice does not win. So I am “forced” to read a book I wouldn’t have otherwise chosen. It’s actually a great way to encourage me to read an even wider variety of books. It’s pretty easy to see the book club choices vs. my normal reading preference when you look at the list.
You may notice I don’t show my rating/reviews of these books. Amazon does NOT require a person leaving a review to actually buy the book. So, in my opinion, that leads to a significant amount of bogus ratings. I always sort the rating by “Most Recent” when I’m considering a book. You would be surprised at how many of the 5 star ratings you see will be replaced by 1-2 stars when you do this.
As an author I only leave reviews on books I really like. My mother always said “if you can’t say something nice then don’t say anything at all”.
