As the person tasked with marketing Nicki’s books I give a lot of thought to why people buy books and why they are drawn to certain books and specific books withing certain genres. So I spend a lot of time trying to figure out “why people love the Troop of Shadows Chronicles. I’m trying to go a lot deeper than things like ad images, headlines, text boxes and Call to Action buttons here. I’m trying to get into peoples brains to understand the deeper, perhaps subconscious motivations they have.
It’s interesting that some people who love the post-apocalyptic genre cannot pinpoint exactly why they like these types of books. I speculate that some of the reasons are subconscious and the readers don’t recognize their motivations.
